While we at MacXimise continuously look at the latest App's from Apple for both our clients and also for our own business, and some times just to see what is new and fun to download.
Currently we are trying out some business software which also has the iPhone App so that the function of this software is available on our iPhone's and can be synced at all times - so far it is proving a valuable tool for our business. When we have completed the trial and are happy that it meets our needs 100% - we will most certainly let you know all about it and where to get it.
In the meantime here is the link to the App store, remember the top free Apps change regularly so keep going back to see what's new and free.
Some of the latest Free and Pay Apps we have downloaded are: ToDo Map * - A different ToDo approach, a unique concept based on a graphical and hierarchical fast view.
London Tube Status Push * - Get up to the minute service level details for the London Underground without having to load an application to do it. cost Free as at 11/03/10
Units * - Quite the useful App - units is a unit converter which will assist in converting things like area, currency, energy, temperature, time, length the list goes on. So ever wondered how many kilograms are in a stone, how many inches are in a meter or how many liters are in gallon then units is for you.
London Tube Deluxe * - Tube Deluxe has the latest & official Transport for London map (landscape & portrait) with an easy to use station finder. The map can be zoomed in & out using a pinching motion. Journey plans can be displayed on the map, so you can clearly see what stations you will go through and where to change., if you are happy with the other apps and want to make it further then this version is £0.59 as at 11/03/10
SimpleDraw * - Remember the old Etch A Sketch? - Well this App will take you back, start with a blank canvas choose your stroke size and colour then off you go - you can also change colours and stroke size while you draw - like what you have created?, then save it to the phone. Fantastic and Fun
Remote * - Created by Apple - remote connects your iPhone to your computer and allows you to see all the music saved on your Mac - acting just like a remote (with added features) it allows you to search and select your music and play it through your speaker system - the one advantage is sitting in the garden during summer you can change the music without heading back inside. - remember the music does not play out of your iPhone and still uses the speakers connected to your Mac, fear not the remote also has a volume control so you can turn it up too. I did have one a slight problem with this in that at one point it would not connect to my music library - however as it was free i removed the App from iTunes and downloaded it again and all was restored.
Flight Tracker * - Watch flights in real-time and get up-to-the-minute arrival and departure times. This has saved me countless delayed pick-ups from the airport.
Fluid * - For those of you longing for your summer break to the beach - check this out - Fluid is essentially a sun filled rock pool with pebbles at the bottom covered with clear fresh water and allows you to dip your fingers in and make shapes in the water, turn on the music, then sit back and rela.
Shopping List Lite * - Always handy to have a list to hand, what ever you need to get while at the store can go straight on your list as and when you think of it (or when you finish something at home) and then on your next trip to the store all your needs are in list. This is a very basic version and does require that you type in what it is you need (which i found to be rather useful than trying to select from a list which does not have what i want specifically) remember once you have inserted information it is stored in the app so that next time you need the same thing it is in the list and just needs to be added to your current shopping list.
* Please note all the Apps mentioned above are Apps that we have searched and tried ourselves and we are now sharing with you some of our findings. MacXimise is in no way affiliated with these Apps and their creators, all terms and conditions of these Apps and the Apps store and Apple still apply. MacXimise also recommends that you read all App content and reviews before making any purchase decision. MacXimise can not be held liable for any faults or errors that occur to or as a result of any App.
